Types of Chickens found in India

First, New Hampshire chicken comes from the US. It is now also found in India. This breed of chicken is primarily raised for meat and breeding purposes, rather than for egg production. It has an approximate weight of 2.9 to 3.9 kg and lays 15 to 200 eggs per year.

Second, the Rhode Island Red is also one of the famous cock breeds, originating in the US. It can be dark red to mahogany in colour and weigh between 3.85 and 2.95 kg. This breed of female chicken lays 250-255 eggs in a year.

Leghorn is an indian breed of chicken that is very popular for breeding eggs and meat for consumption among Indian people. It features a compact and lightweight body, weighing approximately 55 g.
