What is a PST File?

PST is a file format database created by Microsoft to store local copies of messages, calendar events, contacts, tasks, and attachments for Microsoft Outlook on Windows.

A PST can store our entire mailbox hierarchy and protect custom folder structures.

It allows users to move emails off active mail servers to free up cloud storage   

It keeps everything accessible locally without an internet connection. 

It's easy to transfer, import, export when migrating email accounts between Windows PCs 

It allows optional password encryption directly within Outlook settings to protect local backups. 

Technical Limitations 

Default Size Limit: 50 GB 

Max Capable Limit : 100 GB 

How can we open it?

Open Directly in Microsoft Outlook 

1.Open Microsoft Outlook on Windows.

2.Go to File 

3.Open & Export

4.Open Outlook Data File.

5.Browse to select your .pst file and click OK.

6.In the left navigation panel then PST file will appear as its own separate folder tree 

How to open pst with SysTools PST Viewer Pro in an easy and effective way?

1.Open systools website 

2.Click Services tab on the navigation menu

3.Scroll Down or Search PST Viewer

4.Open SysTools Viewer Pro 

5.Add or search the PST File 

6.Select Quick Scan. If the PST file is damaged or corrupted, choose Advanced Scan to let the software repair and index the file data.

7.Software finishes loading 

8.Complete folder structure of the PST file like Inbox, Sent Items, Contacts, Calendar, etc will display in the left hand panel. 

9.Click on any folder or email to view its full content, headers, and attachments in the reading panel.
