I ask 5 questions about the work of Ukrainian writer Lilia Gudz'.
1. How do you currently see the prospects for the development of the modern literary movement?
2. Do multilingualism and multiculturalism help or hinder contemporary authors? Please give an example.
3. Is it possible to write a quality adventure novel without clichés and scandals?
4. What else, besides art, inspires you to write?
5. The ideal writer is, of course, fiction and abstraction. If we imagine that such a person exists, what would he or she be like (system of values, lifestyle, external image, set of knowledge and skills)?
1.Nowadays and at any time, literature is timeless. Or, on the contrary, it is a reflection of its time, its problems, and historical progress. I believe in the wonderful future of Ukrainian books. Today, more than ever, the time has come when Ukrainian art is opening up to the world with its authenticity and versatility. Despite the difficult times for the country, new books are being published today, new names are emerging, and this is encouraging and hopeful. We will survive! The world will talk about Ukrainian culture.
2.I don't see anything wrong with “learning from the miraculous and not shying away from the ordinary.” This is a great opportunity to learn about the beauty and diversity of the world. It's interesting to read the works of writers who reveal another culture and history. It's a special pleasure to read a work in the original language of Shakespeare, Cervantes, Goethe... A modern author must be multimedia, multicultural, and multilingual. Or at least as much as possible...)))
3. I am not very competent in this matter.
4. A creative person can get inspired at any moment: over a cup of coffee, from a good book, from a child's smile, from a warm hug, from a sincere conversation, from a good movie. For a writer, writing is like breathing. And anything can help in this process, from strong feelings to the simple need to speak and be heard.I write for children, so it is children who inspire me the most, surprise me and teach me a lot - simple and real.
5. What is the ideal writer? Of course, it would be some kind of mythical hero.I'm not sure if such a person would be interesting to living people. An ideal writer is a living imperfect person in all the imperfect manifestations of life)) Definitely in love with his work, which he does well and knows how to make the world fall in love with it.In all other respects, he is beautiful in his individual imperfection)))11
