Dnipro slopes
We walked around the slopes,
The steep cliffs above the Dnipro,
We were talking about love,
Among the scent of youth and lilacs
I told you I loved you,
You whispered : 'My darling',
The morning came to the pier,
Kyi was waking up on the mountains.
Boats were sailing to the Greeks,
The rowers were rowing skilfully,
Storks are flying to their native land,
They carry their children to the yards.
How many feet descended the slopes,
With cuckoo and nightingale...
The moon and the stars were shining,
You whispered - 'I love you'...
Youth spreads its wings
And flies through the ages.
Prince Kyi, give us strength
To bloom by the river.
