How the Stalinist lobby of Ukrainian Wikipedia acts.

Our example is the Wikipedia article about the Ukrainian orthography of 1933, introduced by Stalin terror and genocide.

As for me, these changes are noteworthy: (diff1)(diff2)

The point is that they are trying to say that the Ukrainian orthography of 1928 (Kharkiv orthography) was wrong, and Stalin's orthography of 1933 had corrected it, that Andrii Khvylia was not a Russificator, but an executed for "nationalism", so they are trying to equate him with the Executed Renaissance. (In fact many of Stalin's executioners was executed themselves, also as spies or nationalists or whatever.)

It is exactly what I have written!

Here he confirms his account. BTW, there UeArtemis is also saying that he hates the Ukrainian orthography of 1928 (Kharkiv orthography): Не користуюся - ненавиджу.

I would say that Ukrainian Wikipedia has a powerful Stalinist lobby protected by the administrators.

Yes, we can discuss the repressed orthography of 1928, but not with the ideologists of Holodomor and the repressions saying that genocide and linguicide improved the Ukrainian language!

Stalinists claim that the orthography of 1928 was unpopular, but it was popular in Western Ukraine and in the diaspora. And became popular in Ukraine after its Independence. So the current orthography has some features of the orthography of 1928. Some features are used to mark classical or Western style (so Kharkiv orthography became Lviv style).

IMHO, criticism of the orthography of 1928 has to be in the article about the orthography of 1928, because the only reason to eliminate it was linguicide, and it was possible only because of genocide and repressions.

Also, Stalinists claim that Stalin's changes were not Russian but "Eastern Ukrainian" without any proofs.

Stalinists typically hate Western Ukraine because it was not controlled by Russians and fought against Russians till 1960. (You can read about Nil Khasevych, a graphic artist, killed in 1952.) So Stalinists say that it is a "wrong Ukraine" having a "wrong Ukrainian" and "wrong Ukrainians".

And they also like to speculate about a "confrontation" between Eastern and Western Ukrainians, but in fact it is the confrontation between Russians and Ukrainians. Ukrainians don't consider Ukrainian dialects as of enemy, or Ukrainians as enemies. (In this terms, Western Ukraine is ex-Austro-Hungarian Empire, Eastern Ukraine is everything else.)

So everything that is not Russian and Stalin's means is of Western Ukraine, means is of enemy. Everything that is Russian and Stalin's means is organized, normalized and traditional.

θ/th is a good example of how everything was unified with Russian. Why orthography was spelled as орфографія, but
orthodox was spelled as ортодокс? — Because Russians spell "ф" in the first case, but "т" in the second.

So Ukrainian Wikipedia says about "Eastern Ukrainian" tradition meaning Russian tradition!

Also soft pronunciation of "л" is Eastern Ukrainian, Poltava pronunciation.

PS

Look at that Stalinists fighting against female-specific job titles: https://uk.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%D0%9E%D0%B1%D0%B3%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%BD%D1%8F:%D0%A4%D0%B5%D0%BC%D1%96%D0%BD%D1%96%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%B8&diff=prev&oldid=37816301

UeArtemis, the Andrii Khvylia's follower added some speculations referencing to his original research, and Mykola7, a steward protected him. But they don't care about rude misogynistic vandalism! https://uk.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=%D0%9E%D0%B1%D0%B3%D0%BE%D0%B2%D0%BE%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%BD%D1%8F:%D0%A4%D0%B5%D0%BC%D1%96%D0%BD%D1%96%D1%82%D0%B8%D0%B2%D0%B8&diff=prev&oldid=37458566

I consider female-specific job titles matter of language, but it is a good marker of such Russified misogynists! Russian culture is very sexist

UeArtemis said that female-specific job titles could be considered not neutral in Poland, but it is the same Russian influence, as well as in East Germany.

Also, UeArtemis said that the rules of the orthography are wrong, that they force to rewrite traditional words, but it is obvious bullshit. Now we often use the -ИНя postfix, similar to the German Lehrer → Lehrerin, but the rule doesn't prohibit any other forms.

But the main thing is that he doesn’t speak Ukrainian at all! So a Russian-speaking Stalinist is teaching how to speak Ukrainian, spamming his original research, and the administrators protect him...
